Unopex Completes Two Installation Projects in Moldova
Unopex continues to deliver locally manufactured process technologies to users worldwide. Recently, our team successfully completed installation and training programs at two prominent universities in Moldova.
During this comprehensive project, our team managed installation, training, and production processes simultaneously at two different university laboratories. At Moldova State University, a Biopex A twin bioreactor installation and hands-on training program was conducted, while at the same time, Moldova Technical University saw the completion of installation and commissioning of the B15 Spray Dryer and its complementary units, B40 and B60.
Throughout this process, we coordinated closely with our local partner Lokmera, ensuring the laboratories at both universities were efficiently and effectively operational.
Bioreactor Installation and Training Program at Moldova State University
Our team visited Moldova State University to carry out a comprehensive installation and user training program for the delivered Biopex A Twin benchtop bioreactor. The installation process included step-by-step calibration of all sensors, connection to the control unit, verification of sterilization conditions, and the initial culture run.
Following the installation, a full-day hands-on training program was conducted with the research team. The training covered:
- Introduction to bioreactor components
- Practical demonstration of pH, DO, temperature, and foam control algorithms
- Sterilization procedures and process safety
- Initial test production with Aspergillus niger culture

Faculty members and graduate students received extensive practical training, enabling them to operate the bioreactor independently for their research projects.
Spray Drying System Installation at Moldova Technical University
Simultaneously, at Moldova Technical University, we carried out the installation of the B15 Spray Dryer along with its complementary units B40 and B60. These systems are critical for micro-particle production in food technology, pharmaceutical research, and chemical processes.
Following installation, detailed operational training was provided to the users, covering:
- Principles of spray drying
- Optimization of temperature, airflow, and feed rate relationships
- Solvent handling and solvent recovery
- Maintenance, cleaning, and long-term operation procedures
- Test production runs using various raw materials

Upon completion of the training, users were able to operate the systems independently, both theoretically and practically.
This visit represented a significant step in strengthening technical support for academic research and fostering future collaborations. It also contributed to enhancing the research capacity of the universities, improving user competence in process operations, and modernizing laboratory infrastructures.
Unopex will continue to support institutions worldwide with installation and training programs as part of our projects, leveraging our locally manufactured biotechnology and process technologies. We remain committed to being a reliable global partner in biotechnology and process engineering.
