Biotech Solutions for Sustainability 2025
We are delighted and proud to have been part of the 2nd International Biotechnology Solutions for Sustainability Congress (Biotech4Sus 2025), held at Gebze Technical University (GTÜ) on 21–24 October 2025. As Unopex, we were pleased to support this major international event as a sponsor and to take part in this platform that brought together all stakeholders in the field of biotechnology for four consecutive days.
With over 20 years of expertise, we reinforced our vision of contributing to researchers and manufacturers around the world as they effortlessly carry out their nature-friendly and humanity-focused projects—through the support we provided throughout the congress.
Strong Interest in the Bioprocesses Workshop
The first stop in the four-day intensive program was a series of engaging workshops held on 21 October. At Unopex, we were delighted to organise and host the “Bioprocesses: Applied Training Workshop.” The session began with a theoretical lecture introducing the fundamentals of bioprocess applications, followed by a hands-on bioreactor setup training held at the LabBio Food laboratory.
In this highly dynamic and inspiring learning environment, our Biopex A Twin benchtop bioreactor system played a key role in demonstrating bioprocess applications in practice. The strong energy and high engagement of the participants once again highlighted the growing interest in bioprocess technologies.
The workshop aimed to enhance both the theoretical knowledge and practical skills of attendees. The theoretical session covered essential topics such as the definition and general workflow of bioprocesses (upstream/downstream), the fundamentals and applications of fermenters, comparisons between microbial and cell culture processes, and key considerations in inoculum and media selection.
Unopex Mark on the Event
During the remaining three days of the event, we took our place at the congress center, where we met with industry professionals, members of the biotechnology community, and young talents. At our booth, we had the opportunity to showcase our Biopex A benchtop bioreactor.
On the third day of the congress, during the Industrial Biotechnology session, our colleague Asena Atay delivered a presentation titled “Scale-up in Bioreactors” sharing our insights and experiences on this crucial step in transforming academic studies into commercial success.
Biotech4Sus 2025 provided a comfortable and professional environment, serving as a valuable platform for knowledge exchange among young scientists, experienced researchers, and industry leaders. We sincerely thank the Gebze Technical University Biotechnology Institute and the organising committee for their dedicated efforts in making this event a success.
